"These aren't just pictures, they are all individual pieces of art."
Why photography...
Since my brother passed, I had realized that we had a lot of pictures and videos together. Memories that had now been concrete proof of genuine love and our bond as brothers were in my possession forever.
In high school I had experienced a time of severe depression. I became very antisocial and spent a lot of time alone. I had thought for a while about things I had did for fun with my brother before he passed. We loved sports, and my uncle would often record our pop warner games. We had always thought of buying a camera to record each other doing what we loved, him rapping and I drawing or attempting to build something new. I figured, why not attempt crafts I thought would be impossible for myself to master. I got tired of feeling so alone, and the art gave me this deep connection to him and life in general and gave me a voice again. At times, it really gave me hope, and I know my brother would've wanted me to continue pushing my limits.
I decided that in high school i'd take some photography classes to better enhance my knowledge on cameras. I soon began to teach myself photoshop and use to take old pictures i found and retouch them to make them look as if they were new. The pictures were often images of myself and my siblings with our other foster families. More memories, I figured that becoming a photographer and using a bit of art i can help others capture these moments at an occasion, and i'd just take candids or do portrait photography for clients. It had made me a lot more social and I was excited every time i got to show my clients pictures of themselves through my lens. I give to you my eyes, my view of the world.
